Mode of Action
- The toxins secreted by the bacteria Bacillus subtilis inhibit the development of pathogens, usually by inhibiting the sprouting of the spores and disruption of the pollen tube and the mycelium.
- Serenade is an excellent root colonizer. When used as a soil treatment, it can be a preemptive colonizer of the plant’s rhizome, forming a barrier to protect against soil diseases. Serenade has been demonstrated to induce a plant’s defense response as observed in several plant/pathogen systems in a laboratory setting.
